Carvel,

My name is Ryan Carden and together with my girlfriend Jessica Hammonds, we started Organicism Farms in December 2008 to feed our hunger for unique, tasty, organic food unlike anything else that was available our area. Our farm is located in East Tennessee and we currently serve most of the award winning restaurants and chefs in our area including but not limited to renowned resort/restaurant Blackberry Farms and James Beard award winning chef Bruce Bogartz.

Since 2009, we have specialized in growing sprouts and micro greens. As with all of our produce, we have a passion for cultivating unique, extremely flavorful varieties such as: micro bulls blood, micro cilantro, micro arugula, popcorn shoots, sunflower shoots, and micro daikons. All of our varieties are grown year round . In addition to our micro greens, we also grow delicious sprouts all year long such as alfalfa and other varieties. We also lovingly grow a variety of seasonal farm produce that changes with the weather. We’re young, love what we do, and feel lucky to be working the land.

Jessica and I are excited to be expanding into the Atlanta market for 2011. I’m originally an Atlanta native before moving to Tennessee and I’m happy to get to share my farm with some of my favorite Atlanta eateries. We’re going to be in town January 18th-20th and would love to stop by your restaurant to tell you a little about our farm and what we do. Is there a best time to stop by? Thanks for caring about the food you serve. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Sincerely,

Ryan Carden

Sounds delish! Maybe I'll have some when we come tonight. What should I order it with?

BTW, our Smyrna food writer, H.M Cauley posted a lovely story on Canoe and Chef Carvel today.

Hi...it was really nice to meet you and Matt on Saturday and we hope that the pork-sides / bellies we provided will work out for you and the Canoe Customers. All our hogs / pigs free-range in our woodlands and at this time of year are eating all the pecans and acorns they can find. We do provide non-medicated natural feed as well as providing whey from our creamery on cheese making days. Enjoy...warmest regards, Christel Green - Farmer, Cheese-maker and Mom.

Thanks. I'm supposed to cook for my new vegan girlfriend next week and have no idea what to make! I found tons of recipes at this vegetarian recipes site but with soo many to choose from I just got confused. Do you have any favorites youself, like .. the tastiest vegetarian recipe, ever, or something?! Thanks in advance! I'm so clueless about this vegetarian stuff

I had the great pleasure, as always, of eating at Canoe tonight and the GF pasta dish was amazing. Just another reason why I still believe, after all the time I've been here, that Canoe is *the* best restaurant in Atlanta. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent everything. And special thanks to Phillip for putting up with us!

Thank you! I have been coming to Canoe for over a decade, and just found out a few years ago that I have celiac's. This had made eating out very challenging, since I'm also a vegetarian. I can't wait to try the buckwheat pasta, buckwheat is one of my favorite things!
