The wine list, a recipient of the Best of Award of Excellence since 2009., is a “day to day challenge that’s many facets provide constant excitement,” says Matt. He describes the wine list as one that “will always be predominantly American, while we like to offer a representation of what is currently spectacular around the world”

One of my favorite things is to find that perfect wine that will accentuate items from Chef Carvel’s menu. Food and wine go hand in hand”, says Matt “both complimenting each other while often times making the sum of the two greater than each individual part.”
Matt is a native Atlantan, who has recently completed both the rigorous Advanced Certification with the Court of Master Sommeliers and his Diploma with The Wine and Spirits Education Trust. “Working at Canoe offers me terrific exposure to so many wines from around the country and the world. I strive to learn as much as possible about wine, in order to share it with Canoe’s staff and guests.”
